2009, Black and Greene Records
VINYL FORMAT. Drug Rug's new album was partially recorded at Old Soul in Catskill, NY amongst the spiders and millipedes on a finicky board in a haunted old house. Ghosts had been reported in the kitchen, rummaging around in the cupboards - perhaps looking for the missing pieces of the old Houdini magic board game.
We recorded many of the songs during a few hot, stormy weeks in July, often working late into the night layering tracks to tape on an old reel-to-reel. We settled in to record behind gold and white glass doors that creaked ominously in the shifting humidity. We had heard tales of the ghosts and had seen none as of yet-- but it was easy to imagine an invisible presence just out of reach, a magnetic hand drawing its finger along the spinning tape in time with its own beat.
