2003, Latecomer
Guitars, synthesizers, drums, drum machines, Atari 2600, Gameboy, banjo, pedal steel, and a few other sound devices make cameos, take leads, and otherwise occupy this musical amalgram, the first release from upstart label Latecomer. Perhaps best described as "kitchen-sink" rock, this self-titled debut manages to maintain a clear focus while cutting through a swath of genres, from folk-blues to prog to electronic.
