2010, Merge Records
Merge Records is proud to present the new Parallel Seismic Conspiracies EP by Telekinesis. These songs, with the exception of "Calling All Doctors," were recorded solo "demo-style" by Michael Benjamin Lerner using only the microphone on his MacBook and lots of compression. "Calling All Doctors" was a "TK v1.0 full band version" recorded at their old practice space in Seattle's Belltown, the birthplace of grunge. The EP's title is a product of Lerner's new obsession with Guided by Voices' Alien Lanes on which "Game of Pricks" appears. Of "The Drawback," a cover of a Warsaw song, Lerner says "the drum fills were fun to record." The new Telekinesis line up, with Jason Narducy on bass (Robert Pollard, Verbow) and Cody Votolato on guitar (Jaguar Love, The Blood Brothers), promises to bring all of the energy and fun you have come to expect from the Telekinesis live experience!
