Pick-Up

There is more than one project called PICK-UP.

1) Pick-up is a new duo of Frans de Waard (Beequeen) on laptop and Martin Luiten (Girlfriends, Uw Hypotheek Advies) on guitar. Debut limited edition LP out now on Important Records.

2)Pick-Up it is combination of many musical styles and brightly expressed texts on various themes. In the songs of group affects the themes of love, experiencing, relations, global problems and etc.
Style of music of PICK-UP, is an alternative (but it only in order that it is superficial to describe their genre).
A group was founded on June, 15, 2004 in Kyiv. Kostya "KOYSS" Leontovich (vocals, guitar), Alexey "LEXi" Ignatusha (bass), Sergei "KOBRA" Pankratiev (drums) and Andrew "PAKET" Kropolnitsky (vocals) were at the beginning of creation. Name PICK-UP has comespontaneously, when the boys had something to write on the flyer of the first concert. After itself the word of Pick-up bear not just a beautiful combination of phrases, but the idea of using songs that may raise spirit of the people. To the end of 2007 team played one, unchanged, composition and during this time managed to play more than thirty Ukrainian festivals and concerts, becoming the winners of a few of them. As PICK-UP laid the way for the glory by their own, far not all was so cloudless: it was necessary to play in little mossy clubs, carry an equipment on their shoulders, to travel to cities in the old train at their own expense. Not everyone saw this perspective and by the end of 2007 there remains only 2 participants (Kostya Leontovich (vocal, guitar) and Alexey Ignatusha (bass)).
In 2008 PICK-UP invite new participants (Alexander Tarasov (drums), Taras Rudenko (keys)) and released debut EP by their own forces under the name "BLIZHCHE". But this mini-album spread only in the internet.
In September, 2008 by a reason of transition of Leontovich Kostya in a new project, PICK-UP on some time was frozen, and musicians were dissolved.
But at the end of the same year a group is recreated. Author of all songs of the band Konstantin Leontovich, decides to return in life PICK-UP and continue the creative activity exactly in this project. New musicians, but for this time priorities were placed correctly. It means all or nothing. After a while a group worked of the new and unrealized old material...
