Picking You Up Just To Put You Down

What began as a stripped down four-track solo project now sounds like a proper band, featuring drums loops, bass guitar by Dan Keeler, and -- on two tracks -- harmonica by Mark Damon Puckett. The tape hiss may be gone, but the songs remain the same: acoustic and electric guitars wrapped around lyrics that mostly recall tortured relationships (if Arab Strap had a sense of humor, Player Hater might be what they would sound like). Recorded in an apartment in New York City, and released on Kessel Run Records, these ten songs about heartbreak, lost love and dreams deferred are about as high fidelity as lo-fi gets.
