“Way back in 1981 eight youngsters, inspired by the British two-tone craze and a forever lasting love for Jamaican popular music, formed Duck Soup. Soon, smartly dressed, they performed intensely in Copenhagen’s subculture-zone, playing many a gig for various types of audiences. They soon proved to be the no. 1 Danish skaband and a force to be reckoned with! Spring 1984, however, resulted in what seemed to be the final curtain for Duck Soup. The band disintegrated and the members were soon off to other musical projects and careers.
The Resurrection. 1993 saw Duck Soup back by massive public demand, and like a Phoenix, the band reassembled with the complete 1983 line-up. Music and skills were honed to a sharper, more perfect edge, and soon Duck Soup hit the roads in Denmark, with occasional gigs in Norway, Sweden and Germany. In 1997 their first album, Planet Ska, was released followed by “Single no.1” the following year. Indifferences with their Swedish label led to no second album, and Duck Soup concentrated the following years on playing live gigs.”-Manifesto from the band’s Myspace
