2002, Le Grand Magistery
Recorded in the Georgian Room of Scarboro Aquarium Club's Baroque mansion, "Poisoned" is an elegant, stylish, somewhat aquatic, mysterious, quirky, and devious romp through a decade's worth of dreams. Seemingly influenced by artists such as New Order, The Field Mice, Lighting Seeds, The Divine Comedy, Donovan, Pete Best, The Beach Boys, and The Pet Shop Boys, the recordings on this album, very much like the club itself, although steeped in history have all eyes focused clearly on progress. This album plays like a fantastic mix-tape, similar to that first album by Bran Van 3000, only VERY DIFFERENT. Incredibly hard to classify yet incredibly easy to listen to.
