Cowboy and Indian is currently based in Cleveland. They met at Princeton University, where Brett Sherman was Indrany Datta-Barua's TA for an intro logic course. After living together in Queens, where the band originated, they moved to Cleveland so that Datta-Barua could begin medical school at Case Western. The EP, their debut, was recorded in Dumbo, Brooklyn. They claim to play "Country Music From the Future," describing their sound as "Portishead meets Patsy Cline."
