2005, Mesh-Key
Originally supposed to be out on TMU,
but the band broke up. So it was
released by the band in a limited
edition of 500 copies. Vinyl only. This
was WAY before its time. Disco-fied
Kraut-influenced awesomeness based out
of Japan/NYC. Justin Simon moved to
Japan to study. He also started this
band. Produced by the DFA in 2001 before
they blew up. This is 'pre-everything'.
See how it was before everyone in NYC
was famous. I think the Rapture was
still playing Brownies back then. On
this release the band's relentless thump
recalls Can or PiL (with A.D.D.'). While
Takamoto's insane screech summons the
ghosts of Inu-era Machida Machizo and
Jacks-era Hayakawa Yoshio.
