1990, Cherry Red Records
The Seers burst onto the scene as the first unsigned band to play the main stage at The Reading Festival. This was swiftly followed by a blaze of publicity when their Rough Trade single Lightning Strikes (included here) was released at the time of the Hungerford shootings. Signing a major deal with Virgin subsidiary Head Records they were left in limbo when the company folded. Fortunately, their Pat Collier-produced master tapes were rescued and released here with all their anger and energy intact..
