Sword of God (CD)
Fifth full length form the band. This time around, the songs tend more
towards "pissed off" than melancholy. Coome's lyrics vent steam at such
irritations as orporate entertainment, mass idustry, and biotechnoloy, while
expressing impatience and frustration with his fellow human beings and
himself. Harmonies soar, synthesizers squawk and snarl at strategic moments,
and by the end of the album the rowdy duo is proclaiming, "Rock and Roll Can
Never Die" . Janet Weiss is also the drummer for Sleaer Kinney and Sam
Coones plays bass for Elliot Smith.
