Random Portraits of the Home Movie

Produced by Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Secret Machines, Iron & Wine) at Chicago's Engine Studios, Random Portraits of the Home Movie draws from the subtractive musical canvas of trip hop and krautrock to paint a brighter, more organic musical collage using a palette of mellotron, koto, cello, guitar, electronic bleeps and blips and the occasional keyboard wired into an arsenal of old, analog guitar effects. This infectious debut from Sushirobo guitarist Dave Einmo, melds sunny bliptropic beats with lush indie soundscapes inspired by sounds from his family's Super 8 home movies. Includes guest appearances by members of Smoosh, Kinski, The Posies, Crooked Fingers, Preston School of Industry and others from Einmo's native Seattle music scene.
