Red Mass

More than a mere band, Red Mass is a collective and gathering of minds.

The brainchild of Roy Vucino, aka Choyce (CPC Gangbangs, The Daylight Lovers, Les Sexareenos), Red Mass took shape in 2008 following break up of the legendary CPC Gangbangs. Red Mass' goal is simple…a positive atmosphere for creating, allowing social networking for its members as well as pursuing the ideals of free thinking and liberation through art. The ever evolving line-up and contributors to Red Mass consist of musicians from such bands as Demon's Claws, ChoColat, Hot Springs, Black Feelings, Sunday Sinners, Vicious / Delicious, Ghost Limbs and Danny Thornley ( Luna Maria ) to name a few.

Through his prolific exploits, Choyce has helped give Montreal's flourishing garage and rock n' roll scenes international recognition. Having fronted CPC Gangbangs, henow also records and tours with long time friend Mark Sultan (sup pop, In The Red).

At eighteen, he and two partners formed Sultan records and then went on to play and record with The Irritations, Daylight Lovers, Del-Gators, Cheating Hearts, Luxury Rides, les enfants sauvages, Honey and Lies, MiLKY WAYS, Cocobeurre, Bestalita, Mark Sultan, pipi and Les Sexareenos with whom he released three records on Sympathy For The Record Industry and achieved cult status after touring extensively in Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan. He then formed CPC Gangbangs, whose live act won them the reputation of one of the top rock n roll bands in the world.

Now, Red Mass has opened itself to all with a sincere belief that it can offer young artists and outsiders alike a new haven. With a slew of singles, 10"s, EPs and experimental releases, Red Mass is ready to hit. Their psychedelic space rock 'n' roll and its elements of noise, folk, punk and electronic music is a culmination of 12 years of hard work. The dark poppy hooks, laced with other worldy sound effects, are at once an ode to the past, the music of today, and the shape of rock 'n' roll to come.

Red Mass' latest release, a seven-song EP, will available internationally on CD, LP and digital format in November 2009 on Semprini Records. Their previous four-song vinyl EP originally released on Psychic Handshake is now available as a digital download via Signed By Force / Semprini Records.
