2001, Gulcher
Revisit the Hoosier state with the 2001 reissue of RED SNERTS--THE SOUND OF GULCHER! This highly collectible 16-song sampler of Indiana punk and new-wave bands was originally released on vinyl in 1981, and has been out-of-print for the better part of the past 20 years. In addition to tracks by well-known Gulcher bands, including the Gizmos, the Panics, the Jetsons, Dow Jones & The Industrials, and the Dancing Cigarettes, RED SNERTS features appearances by the Amoebas In Chaos, Mr. Science, the Defekts, A. Xax, E-in Brino, Phil Hundley, the Post Raisin Band, Last Four (4) Digits, Freddy & The Fruitloops, the Zero Boys, and bay-root. RED SNERTS gave several Hoosier groups and musicians their start--of particular note, the Zero Boys went on to become one of America's most popular hardcore bands; Gizmos lead singer Dale Lawrence formed the Vulgar Boatmen; and the Post Raisin Band eventually distilled into the Wooldridge Brothers.
