Red Stars Theory
Red Stars Theory's core members are guitarist/vocalist James Bertram of 764-Hero and drummer Jeremiah Green, who played with Modest Mouse for a time. Much like their other two bands, the Washington State natives combined driving guitars and passionate vocals into cathartic indie-rock, but as their 1997 debut But Sleep Came Slowly showed, the group also added long, moody passages to their songs that evoked slow-core groups like Codeine as well as orchestral arrangement. In 1995, REDSTARS RESTOCK. RED STARS THEORY released a 10" on Berkeley's Deluxe record label and a 7" single on Seattle's RxRemedy, which have long been out of print. This CD compiles those two releases. Since these early recordings, the band has grown to include Seth Warren (full-time violin player) and released a LP on RxRemedy and a second full length and EP on Chicago's mighty Touch and Go Records.
