VINYL FORMAT. Alex XXXChange is best known as the beat master behind Spank Rock, but that is far from where his resume ends. He has produced everyone from Santogold to Amanda Blank, and co-wrote Kele Okereke's (Bloc Party) critically acclaimed solo album. He collaborated on many projects with Ghostdad and Boston-based Devlin before those three forces conceived Win Win. Win Win's debut single Releaserpm has the album version of the stand out title track, which features guest vocals from Lizzie Bougatsos of Gang Gang Dance, a remix of the track by the DJ duo extraordinaire Nadastrom, as well as non album track, "City Mouse Shadow Bird." The tracks are complex and multifaceted, a fascinating coalescence of various technologies. Beat making programs were utilized to pull apart the sketches and put them back together, with additional synths and sonic tweaking added in XXXChange's Brooklyn studio. The kaleidoscopic range of sounds and influences reflect three artists born in an analog world and their reactions to present-day short attention spans and a collective conscience altered by technology and the internet.
