Bitter, Bitter Weeks is the work of Philadelphia native Brian McTear. McTear is better known for his work as the producer of bands like Mazarin and Matt Pond PA, as well as the engineer for the Burning Brides, Swearing at Motorists, and countless other outfits. McTear's own musical roots lie somewhere strangely between folk music and avant noise rock, and in Bitter, Bitter Weeks he skillfully finds that common ground. On his second album, "Revenge," his songs bubble with anger, optimism, rage, reconciliation, and everything in between. His voice and arrangements are perfect.
