2011, All Natural
It's been a long time coming, but Proh Mic's debut album Rhythm for Days is finally here! Already a veteran to the game with production credits that include Blu, UNI, The Pharcyde and more, Proh will step to the forefront with his fresh blend of soul, hip hop, and electronica. Handling all of the production with the exception of "Optimistic" produced by his hometown (Seattle) cohort Vitamin D, Rhythm for Days will give listeners a peek into Proh Mic the artist, as he sings and raps throughout the album. When not singing or rapping, Proh has enlisted fan favorites Georgia Anne Muldrow, Coultrain, Tone Trezure, and more to perform the vocalist responsibilities.
Rhythm for Days opens with the futuristic funk jam "Mothaship", followed by "I Remember" one of the album's standout tracks featuring the critically acclaimed Georgia Anne Muldrow. There are a number of soulful party tracks, including the bass heavy "Hit the Floor" featuring Coultrain and Uncle Imani (The Pharcdye), "Turn it Over" an eighties electro groove again featuring Coultrain, and "What Cha Gonna Do" another eighties track encouraging party-goers to get off the wall. Proh Mic also sprinkles instrumentals throughout the album; however for the beat heads we've included a bonus disc containing all of instrumentals. Other standout tracks include "Joy" featuring Jimetta Rose and "Sleep in Girl" featuring Tone Trezure a song inspired by the eighties group The S.O.S. Band. The album concludes with "Sweetest Pain" a mellow groove featuring the horn play of Simeon Viltz…so open your mind and enjoy the journey!
