2004, Lookout! Records
Black Fork was a punk band from the East Bay, CA, circa 1993-'97 that put out one LP, Rock for Loot on Lookout! Records in 1997, then promptly broke up. In 1995, an LP had been recorded, but due to lack of interest and a series of setbacks, the songs were divided into two EPs and released on labels that almost immediately folded. The recordings never fully matched the intensity of the live show, which always left both band and audience close to deaf and soaked in a hot vapor of sweat and liquor-swill. The band was known to cram as many as 16 songs into a 20-minute set, leaving many to wonder both why and how they managed to play so fast.
