wolf was founded by clive painter who, having worked for five years as one half of broken dog and as the producer of bands such as monograph / pacific radio, miss-mend, tram and others, decided to produce an album of instrumental music.

using the broken dog home studio (known as animal) clive began to assemble a large collection of instrumentals and spent nine months sculpting them and exploring the almost limitless potential of hard disc recording, playing live instruments as well as programming and continually writing more music along the way.
