2004, K Records
Sad, Sappy Sucker is the lost album recorded in November 1994, originally intended to be the band's debut full-length. The 24 songs that comprise it mark the earliest recordings of Modest Mouse as a band, evolving from founder Isaac Brock's four-track solo project. Due to unforeseen delays, it was shelved in favor of "This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About" (Up Records, 1996). In addition to the 12 songs recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio by Calvin Johnson, Sad Sappy Sucker includes nine previously unreleased bonus tracks from the same era.
