2010, Friendly Fire Recordings
The Whitsundays are the weird and wonderful musical brainchild of Edmonton, Alberta's Paul Arnusch (who also plays with dream-pop luminaries Faunts). Their sophomore album Saul is a resplendent collection of vintage psychedelia and jangly pop, yet is also much darker and stranger than anything the Whitsundays have done before, calling as much upon the washed-out fuzziness of Ariel Pink as it does the pop melodies of the Zombies.
