Completely fun and disorientating cut up mayhem from this member of Red Light Sting, who also leads a double life as The Epidemic. One-man Vancouver pop garbage disposal ANDY DIXON joins forces with Vancouver's bitchin' Ache, and unleashes his second full-length release. Dixon utilizes anything and everything in creating his warped sound. Instruments are beaten, stretched and manipulated until sounds, rhythms, and melodies are brought forth. He culls the cynicism, wit and energy, sheds the pretense, and vomits daycare manipulations and tongue-in-cheek melodies on every track.

User Reviews

Chris Morin - Saskatoon, AL, Canada
Mammal Class is a cut and paste pastiche of sound, a virtual decoupage of both lifted and created clips. What makes this process of songwriting so interesting is that it creates an entirely new context then what was originally meant by the original artists. Not plagiarism by any means, this is a response to art that pushes the boundaries of what music can mean. As demonstrated on the song 'An Apple a Day Keeps the Mac Voice Away', a simple gesture such as the crunch of teeth sinking into the skin of an apple is powerful enough to conjure a rhythm and melody into a brave musical theory.
