The Enemies are from Oakland, California. This is their second full-length album and follows up their split CD with Pitch Black, released on Lookout! last year. The band has continued to develop their refreshing original sound, gaining in ingenuity and intensity. The music is dark yet catchy and the melodic songs get stuck in your head while the powerful, hardcore sensibilities make you clench your fists and throw punches at the sky. The Enemies have successfully created their very own sound, balancing extraordinary musical skills with the simple elements of punk rock. Last year's addition of Neurosis bassist Dave Edwardson brings a new dimension to the band. Tricky bass licks blend in with the melodious guitar riffs of Mike Pelino. Drummer Jason Willer's vigorous and inventive drumming is a perfect foundation for TThe Enemies' sound.
