2009, Magic Marker
The guileless vocals and shambling sounds of Boat's two albums for Portland-based Magic Marker established them as an indie band with dirty production and pop hooks. Their third album, Setting the Paces, ups the ante, stepping it up with a professional recording that will propel them from the dank basement into headlining their own tour.
