Frogstomp (CD)

Silverchair

[Cover]

Label: Released: 1995 List Price: 11.98
Our Price: $11.38  add to cart

Silverchair's debut album, Frogstomp, faithfully follows the alternative rock tradition of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, which means that the group of Australian teenagers winds up sounding not like their idols, but like Stone Temple Pilots and Bush. For their age, their instrumental capabilities are quite impressive, as the guitars and vocals growl with the force of rockers in their early 20s. At the same time, their songwriting abilities aren't as strong, and they are never able to break away from the standard grunge formula. Nevertheless, the record does deliver a collection of songs replicating the thunder of "Tomorrow." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

User Reviews

Shaun Doohan - Newcastle, , Australia
I'm from Newcastle where Silverchair are from and went to their school, i have never seen such talent from a young band before, frogstomp is teenage explosion, i think the people that listen to their music have grown up with them and can understand the lyrics and the meanings to the songs, lets hope the 3 Aussies will produce more outragous music

Frogstomp is the best album that Silverchair has made up to date. After Frogstomp, Freakshow came out and when I first listened to it I noticed that the agressivity that they had on Frogstomp wasn`t there anymore. Their new album, Neon Ballroom is still missing that teenage angst that we all love off Frogstomp.

Silverchair rules!! I participate of a band, who calls "Feminist Abuse", so we also want to be famous, but I just want to congratulate them,'cause they're really good!!(and i also have a friend, who reeally looks like Daniel Johns...)
