Sirke
Formed from ex-Plastalins members, Sirke started out in 1996 as a lo-fi indie trio in Riga, Latvia. In a year's time they had added a fourth member and established themselves as one of the leading acts in Latvian underground. In the summer of 1997 they produced a set of instrumental tracks and recorded them under the name of Sirke 603. Soon enough though they discarded the concept of two different bandnames and switched to playing instrumental post-rock as Sirke. Over their seven years of existence they expanded to the size of a small orchestra with seven people altogether playing post-rock with a disco-like edge on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, two saxophones and vinyls.
