2009, XL
'For all this talk of a shoegazing revival, it's worth pointing out that Friendly Fires don't really sound much like the class of 1990. The original scene was far more rock-centric for a start, while Skeleton Boy showcases a band unafraid to compete with experienced dancefloor merchants. Bubbling synths and some piano lines with the dust of Chicago still on the surface, the track is not so much a sophisticated tribute to a forgotten era than a stunning statement in its own right.' - The Clashmusic.com
