VINYL FORMAT. Australia's Useless Children were born amid the wave of hectic speed induced mayhem that marked the Melbourne punk scene in early 2008 and produced their first EP shortly afterwards. After endless shows and touring the band went in to record their first long player, Sky Is Falling. This album saw the band slowing the pace somewhat but making up what was lacking in speed with pummeling power, feedback and noise. Their new EP and debut recording form Criminal IQ, Skin, sees the band further establish that sound. Drawing on the darkest and deepest cuts of the album, blending elements of the Jesus Lizard's lurch and Feedtime's driving force with their already established love of sheer volume and noise, Useless Children unleash a devastating cacophony of sound, uncompromising and relentless with primal female vocals and grungy bass lines that would have suited contemporaries the Birthday Party all too well. The recording on Skin is the first to effectively document the band's devastating live show. The band features members of the now defunct, faster than fuck hardcore band Cut Sick, reverb drenched pop group Gold Tango, John Sharkey III's Puerto Rico Flowers and 90's revivalists Silence Dead Silence.
