Ten track full length remix album, with mixes from: Boards of Canada (w/ additional 2nd mix not found on the vinyl edition), µ-Ziq, Leafcutter John, Tipper, Horse Opera, Four Tet, Pole, Matmos and Coil. "Planet Mu are proud to present to you two new Boards Of Canada tracks on the Remixed album by Slag Boom Van Loon -- the nom de collab of Rotterdam's Speedy J (Plus 8, Warp, NovaMute) and Mike Paradinas (U-Ziq, Jake Slazenger & Planet Mu label boss etc). All who have heard these sublime moments agree that they are by far the best remixes that the Scottish duo have ever done. But that is not all. We also include remixes from other leaders of their field. Coil for instance have kindly graced us with their presence in a reinterpretation of 'Fallen Angels Entering Pandemonium', an apt title for the sonic carnage that ensues. Rising US stars Matmos (Bjork, Matador) provide relative light entertainment with their dub/hip-hop/funk rendition of 'Moon Base Alpha'. Pole provides us with his ever reliable King Tubby frying sausages impression. Breaks star Dave Tipper (Fuel Records) contributes one of his most startling constructions yet, fusing his subsonic bass mastery with Autechre/Funkstorung like scraping glitch-beats washed down with a healthy dose of dancefloor electro punch. Uziq surprises us with a 4 to the floor funky dub excursion most would expect from Vladislav Delay or Kit Clayton. Four Tet (Kieran Hebden from Fridge)......and Planet Mu's own Leafcutter John and Horse Opera also weigh in with beautiful electronic moments.
