Mellow, atmospheric pop from KARL SMITH & Co, their experimental/ambient leanings tempered with forthright charcoal-filtered pop songs and some shiver-inducing acoustic guitars, gives it a faintly psychedelic folk feeling, as does the glimmering cello and nifty hand-percussion, very nice! They're Aussies and they do come across like a sleepy, shy LUCKSMITHS, like the most laid-back GO-BETWEENS, hints of BELLE & SEBASTIAN, GREEN PAJAMAS and JOHN CUNNINGHAM.
