2011, Sonic Unyon Records
Having formed in 2007 and channeling influences such as The Cure, The Smiths, Fugazi and The Velvet Underground, Rindo Deathstarr has previously released a batch of singles on both sides of the Atlantic and in Japan – a self titled EP in 2007 and most recently, in 2009, a brace of 7's in the States. This March, the band finally released their debut full-length album, Colour Trip, to rave reviews. Recorded quickly and recalling the pop thrill and sonic squall of prime-time Jesus And Mary Chain, Colour Trip demonstrates why Ringo Deathstarr is one of the most exciting young new bands in the USA right now. But, with their growing popularity, a lot of their earlier releases are now out of print. Because of this, the singles compilation Sparkler is now being officially released Stateside.
Sparkler is a compilation of early songs by the Texas shoegaze trio. Originally released only in Japan, the album is now being released domestically in North America by Sonic Unyon with one additional track not on the original CD.
