An EP that allows Jason Pierce to get some of the excess material from Let It Come Down out of his system, Do It All Over Again is almost long enough to be a full album. The title track is Spiritualized's first true venture into traditional British rock, and Pierce proves he has the emotional maturity and songwriting chops to deliver a track that would do Supergrass proud. Another take of it, dubbed the "Evening Session Version," turns the song into a meandering and sparse ballad that calls to mind Atom Heart Mother-era Pink Floyd. The "Evening Session Version" of "On Fire" puts more of an emphasis on the grit and the noise and eliminates some of the spacier elements of the original, while the B-side "Rock and Roll" shuffles along with a quiet orchestrated beauty rarely heard outside of '70s progressive rock. A noise rock cover of "Amazing Grace" doesn't quite click outside of a few given moments, but the shimmering country-rock of "Going Down Slow" and the gospel-inspired grace of "Don't Just Do Something" are more than enough to end the album on an up note. Where most bands have B-sides that are little more than items for ravenous collectors, Spiritualized proves again that virtually everything it releases has Jason Pierce's trademark thoughtfulness and hard work stamped all over it. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
