"It Couldn't Be Perceived" b/w "6 More Weeks" Erika Spring, member of Brooklyn trio Au Revoir Simone, is setting out on her own, taking elements of the band's sound and spinning them into her own brand of bittersweet sun-bleached pop. Breathing her vocals over mesmerizing keyboard phrases, she produces an effect that approaches the supernatural, with tough, stern beats lending gravity to the otherwise hazy, delirious songs. The music conjures scenes of blustery romance amidst the dunes, of love as a mirage, of softly raising the dead. "6 More Weeks" features rolling toms and hovering layers of synths in a song of starless, tropical surrender. "It Couldn't Be Perceived" by NYC genre-hoppers Violens is one of the stand-out songs from their debut Amoral and has been specially remixed for this 7-inch. It's a beautifully recorded, epic tranced-out jam that recalls the vintage sound of 4AD.
