Five-song split between two Portland bands, Die Monitr Batss and A.S.T. The sound of Portland's Die Monitr Batss is authentically no-wave -- similar to artists like Contortions, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, and a more modern Boredoms. These are the two best songs they've recorded. A.S.T. are the first letters of these three Portland girls, who are also members of Sleet Mute Night Mute. Their three songs are equal parts Sonic-Youth-meets-Mars and the late '70s Rough Trade catalog (a la Kleen-X, Raincoats, and Slits).
