With their second album, Standing Still in the U.S.A., The Damn Personals have moved way beyond the simple retro-rock sound and gimmicky stage moves that imprison so many bands with a flare for classic rock. When Big Wheel Recreation signed The Damn Personals and told them to run wild and redefine what indie rock could be they never imagined the directions that would be explored. Musical boundaries have been completely destroyed as classic rock and indie rock become empty catch phrases, listing influences can point you in the right direction but could never prepare you for these twelve schizophrenic tracks. With the combination of writing and playing ability mixed with the studio perfection of producer Michael Deming (Lilys, Beachwood Sparks, Apples in Stereo, Aspera) The Damn Personals have made the record of a lifetime. It's nice to know that they're just getting started.
