Stembo is the momentus debut from multi-instrumentalist, Steve Moore. Moore is onne of today's most respected and hard working musicians. He has recorded and toured with songwriters Laura Veirs and Sufjan Stevens, metal pioneers, Earth and Sunn 0))) as well as Jazz enigma Skerik.

Stretching and flexing the jazz tradition, the rhythm section is anchored by the hard hitting drumming of Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, Jon Brion, Brad Mehldau) and the low end virtuosity of bassist Todd Sikafoose (Ani Difranco). Strong compositions and the spark of improvisation set the table perfectly for masterful String arrangements by Eyvind Kang (John Zorn, Sun 0))), Secret Chiefs 3), and brooding woodwind treatments from Doug Wieselman (Antony and the Johnsons). Viewed through the sonice landscape painted by Tucker Martine, Stembo takes a truly fresh perspective on instrumental music.
