Sting Sting Sting

The Sick Lipstick formed in early 2001, shortly after the demise of Lindsey and Mark's previous band, Black Cat #13. Since then, the band has toured the US with musical cohorts XBXRX, released a split 7" on the avant-garde Deleted Art label, released an EP on California punk label Sound Virus (Blood Brothers, Liars, Pretty Girls Make Graves), and recorded their debut full length, entitled Sting Sting Sting. The album is a manic combination of dance-y drumming, quirky keyboard lines, stabs of atonal guitar and vocals that sound like they are being sung by a bad, bad catholic schoolgirl. The sound of the new material has received comparisons to Contortions, Screamers, Huggy Bear and early B-52's, but really, it's a sound all its own.
