Studio One Dub Vol. 2

VINYL FORMAT. A mighty slab of dub featuring loads of rare and classic dub versions of Studio One's foundation tracks. This album collects together some of the finest dubs of tracks like Marcia Griffiths 'Feel Like Jumping,' Sound Dimension 'Real Rock,' Abyssinians' 'Declaration of Rights,' and many more alongside super-rare dub outings and classic versions. Since the late-1960s, Sir Clement Coxsone Dodd began including a Version on the flip-side of Studio One singles, enabling Soundsystem DJs to toast and chatter over original rhythms. Incorporating dub, echo, reverb and heavy on the bass and drums, these versions have come to be as collectable as many of the original tunes. At the start of the 1970s Coxsone Dodd (and sound engineer Sylvan Morris) also released a series of classic dub albums, featuring innovative dub and mixing techniques. These albums were originally released with very-limited special silk-screen covers, again making them treasured collectors' items. Studio One Dub 2 brings together the best tracks from both these original Dub albums plus many rare and classic versions from Studio One's original 45s.
