Sunday Puncher
Sunday Puncher was an experimental rock band active in the mid to late 90s. The members met and began writing music and performing together at Yale college in New Haven, Connecticut. These included Tom Noerper on Bass and Cornelius Collins on guitar and vocals. While in New Haven they released an album, The Livid Eye. Upon graduation, Collins and other members moved to Brooklyn, NY while Noerper remained in New Haven. Noerper was replaced on bass by another Yale graduate.
In Brooklyn, the new lineup released another album, For Your Everchanging World. In this writer's opinion, this album is a hidden gem. The songs are thoroughly and thoughtfully composed, and many of them thereby transcend what might otherwise be described as a nifty, angular math-rock sound like Polvo or Don Caballero.
