2003, LTM (UK)
RESTOCK. released a string of classic singles via WEA and Factory, including "Calcutta", "The Astronaut" and (best of all) "Nightshift". Their sole album, "Swimming", appeared in 1982 on Crepuscule, and like the singles was produced by the late, great Martin Hannett. This full-length 17-track CD combines the entire album with selected single tracks as well as material recorded for Crepuscule compilation albums. Originally released on Factory Benelux in 1991 and deleted ever since, this remastered CD features detailed liner notes and the original Benoit Hennebert sleeve artwork. The music of the Names boasts a dark, romantic majesty and grace, sometimes redolent of Magazine, early Simple Minds and Joy Division.
