Tell Balgeary, Balgury Is Dead (CDep)
Ted Leo distinguished himself in 2003 with an acclaimed album, Hearts Of Oak, sold-out tours, and coverage from Rolling Stone, Spin, Punk Planet, Mojo, and other music magazines. In addition to playing with his band, The Pharmacists, Ted is also an accomplished solo performer. "Tell Balgeary, Balgury Is Dead" is an EP built around the second single from the album, "Hearts Of Oak." Apart from the title track this record consists of new solo recordings by Ted Leo -- over 25 minutes of music. In addition to new songs, this EP features recorded versions of cover songs that have become live show favorites and illuminate some of Ted's inspirations, The Pogues' "Dirty Old Town," The Split Enz's "Six Months in a Leaky Boat," and The Jam's "Ghosts." This is an opportunity for fans to hear a different side of Ted Leo.
