2010, Touch & Go Records
VINYL FORMAT. Newly reissued on 180 gram vinyl; now comes with a digital download coupon! This is Shellac's second LP. There is more "singing" on this one. Recording took place occasionally throughout 1995 and 1996 in Chicago, with a final session at EMI's Abbey Road Studio 2 in December of 1996. The record was mastered by John Loder at Abbey Road. Those of you who are familiar with Shellac will appreciate that beautiful packaging has always been important to the band. Terraform comes in a full color gatefold jacket, featuring two paintings by pioneering space-travel illustrator Chesley Bonestell and photography by Bob Weston. No expense spared in the reproduction of the art, the quality of the printed image, or the fabrication of the jackets. This may not seem like a big deal, but the contemporary printing industry is not driven by quality reproduction, and we are proud of these jackets. And in keeping with the standards set by previous Shellac records, this record is being monitored to ensure the highest possible reproduction quality. The record was mastered entirely in the analog domain, using the complete DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) process. The LPs are audiophile quality pressings of 180 grams of pure virgin vinyl.
