2011, Sabot Productions
INSOUND EXCLUSVE! Insound is the only
place to get That Much Further
West on BLUE 180-gram vinyl.
VINLY FORMAT. Unfortunately for vinyl fans That Much Further West was only pressed once as a very limited run back in 2003 and many collectors have had to pay outlandish prices to own original copies of the LP. Enter Sabot Productions who are following up their recent vinyl editions of 2005's Nobody's Darlings and 2006's Rebels, Rogues & Sworn Brothers as well as Ben Nichols' 2009 solo debut The Last Pale Light In The West with a double edition of That Much Further West which also includes an extra LP of bonus material taken from the original sessions. "Sabot Productions always puts out top quality stuff so we think this is the best way to keep vinyl readily available for our entire catalog," the band's frontman Ben Nichols exclaims. "This is just the next step in that process."
Recorded while the band—which at the time also featured drummer Roy Berry, bassist John Stubblefield and guitarist Todd Gill— were all living together in a warehouse, That Much Further West is the album that helped the group transition from a hard working road act into one of the most celebrated alternative country acts around and that authenticity literally oozes out of the grooves of these LPs. Correspondingly That Much Further West features some of Lucero's most memorable songs to date, ranging from the twangy "Tears Don't Matter Much" to the sprawling title track and features everything from venomous rockers ("Hate And Jealousy") to acoustic ballads ("Joining The Army") along the way.
