Low Skies have a kind of atmospheric, ominous beauty to them. Go figure: all four members were raised in wide-eyed, blue-skied rural Americana landscapes, where afternoons were passed watching David Lynch films, nights were spent at rock shows, and the time between was wasted away listening to Johnny Cash & Hank Williams. "The Bed" is the soundtrack for a post-apocalyptic world, one that seduces you into thinking the worst is over. Yet just when that tranquility whispers, "It's going to be all right," the tremors of the quake that just might tear it all apart begin to shake again. It's harrowing, yet hopeful, and hits like a gently dropped ton of bricks.
