The Blacktop Cadence formed in Gainesville, Florida in the late 1990s and played a handful of shows from 1996-1998. The band's sound is typically described as "after hours Hot Water Music" offering emotional yet reserved vocal stylings over predominantly rhythm guitar parts, a melodic bass line and intricate drumming.
