The Coast Is Clear

Of course, if In-Flight Safety hailed from a major metropolitan (as opposed to their hometown of Halifax), it seems likely that they'd be co-opted by commercials pretty quickly too. Songs like 'Coast Is Clear' and 'Surround' (streaming on their New Music Canada page, along with most of the rest of the album) are powerfully catchy, with just the right mix of emotional heft and bombast. Not even slower ballads like 'Letting Go' and 'Fear' can drag the album, an indication of both how well-plotted the album is and how riveting the band can be. ~matthew, iheartmusic
