2003, North East Indie
It 's often never been said that spring marches to its own beat which is why we,here at Cerberus Shoal/North East
Indie, have decided to release into the throngs a magnificent display of vitality and wherewithal as put forth by our
grand lodge-mates from the island of England,Guapo and us,ourselves Cerberus Shoals.Thee two excerpts of what we
speak are but snippets of a never to be realized opus entitled The Man Who Loved Holes.
May 6th,2003 stands proud ? tall as the date of these above-mentioned snippets to be released. And as the third
official installment of our ongoing series of,how you say, split CDs,we would like every individual involved in the
propagation of this scheme to allow themselves three extra smiles for the week and please,be rest assured more
splits and many smiles will be offered up as all the days continue to speak in tongues.
This time,in this most evenly matched split,we hear Guapo summoning the inspirational influences of The Boredoms,
Amon Duul and This Heat for their disorientating use of repetition and percussive mantras, the tonal introspection
and dense textures of Glenn Braca and Merzbow with epic primordial noise and imagery paralleled only by the
dystopian nightmare of minds such as Philip K.Dick and Alexandro Jodorowsky. The Shoal,as a catalyst for the Guapo
piece, lightly follows in the footsteps of early Psychic TV,Coil,Current 93 and The Residents. The two pieces together
do well to back the strangulated opus with the soundtrack to Niels Bohrs favorite nightmare.
