2006, Hannibal
The debut album from London-based band The Eighteenth Day of May (the first new signing for the legendary Hannical label since its re-launch last year) is a unique, refreshing and thoroughly modern take on traditional folk music. Recently released in the UK to much critical acclaim, the band now find themselves at the forefront of the emerging UK "Neo-Folk" scene. Drawing on influences ranging from Shirley Collins and The Byrds to the Charlatans and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Eighteenth Day Of May was produced by the band and Andy Dragazis (Blue States) and features contributions from members of Olivia Tremor Control.
