The Electric Boogie 1971 Box Set

This six disc box set (five CDs + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) is filled with rare demos, live recordings and a DVD with previously unseen footage, all from one of Bolan's most productive (and successful) years: 1971. After Marc Bolan delivered the seminal album Electric Warrior to his record company, he was free to start his own record label and do things his way. Over the proceeding six months, free of contracts, he recorded the basics of what would become his biggest selling UK album The Slider for his own "The T. Rex Hot Wax Co." label. The material in this box set was curated over many years from collectors, fans and auction rooms and is controlled by the Bolan Estate; most of these recordings are being released here for the first time! Features Bolan's home demos of huge hits like "Jeepster," "Telegram Sam" and "Get it On." Also included are unearthed live tapes from the summer tour of 1971. Finally, this box set includes a full color booklet with in-depth notes and previously unpublished photographs from this explosive period in Bolan's career!
